Sushi Maro, probably one of the most authentically Japanese restaurants anywhere in the Metro Vancouver area. Located in the heart of trendy Yaletown, this restaurants boasts a more minimalistic. The teriyaki chicken however, is where all the attention goes to and once the first piece hits your mouth; there is no going back. Hook, line and sinker!
Ebisu which is has three locations on Robson Street, Broadway and also in Richmond. Their teriyaki chicken is all pure chicken breast and is carefully breaded to then be deep fried. Once cooked it is generously showered with teriyaki sauce served on a bed of steamed rice with a side of steamed vegetables. Definitely worth stopping by for lunch or dinner, whichever you prefer!
Loku, another amazing place that offers amazing food just located off of Commercial drive in Vancouver. The teriyaki chicken being modestly priced which is both outstanding and delectable is a pleasant surprise. The owners do not give themselves enough credit for serving up such delicious creations.
Hapa Izakaya is a combination of Western flair and Japanese tradition, which is most evidently reflected in the teriyaki chicken. There is a great deal of care from the preparation of the chicken to the way it is breaded and finally the presentation, it looks mouth watering. If you ever wanted to try a hint of Western Canadian culture and authentic Japanese cuisine this is definitely the place to go!
